Welcome to Fulton Engineering

Featured

Dear Families:

Welcome to Arizona State University! We are pleased to have you and your student join the Fulton Engineering family. You are joining a community of exceptional students, faculty, staff and, of course, other families.

We have a unique approach to preparing future engineers. Your student is about to embark on a distinctive educational experience we call the Fulton Difference. We are focused on student success, offering more than just coursework—we offer a wide range of experiential opportunities to enhance the overall student experience. Our faculty are engaged, approachable and committed to giving our students the skills and hands-on research experience that will help them pursue their dreams.

We have a network of support services like the tutoring and career centers specifically for engineering students. We hope to provide an environment that stimulates excitement about engineering, and provides the support needed to persevere through this rigorous curriculum.

When asked what advice they would give to new students, our students all say to get involved. Please encourage your student to take advantage of undergraduate research opportunities, internships, competitions and social activities with student organizations, entrepreneurship and community service programs. Learning experiences outside of the classroom will help to customize your student’s university experience and prepare him or her for success in our rapidly changing world.

A survey of company recruiters conducted by the Wall Street Journal identified schools that best prepare their students. ASU was among the top five. It was no surprise to us that ASU was noted for its well-rounded and talented student body, along with partnerships and close proximity to business communities that result in work-savvy students with a wide array of internship experiences.

ASU is an exciting place to be, offering all of the resources and amenities of an urban-serving, comprehensive research university with Pac-12 athletics and a full range of cultural and social activities. There are many opportunities for your student and we have a wealth of activities that will help orient you and your student to campus life now and into the start of the first semester.

We know that students get busy—so if you’d like to keep up on news and activities, please visit http://fullcircle.asu.edu.

Welcome to ASU! I look forward to meeting your student in August 2013—and hopefully you at one of our many engineering activities.

Go devils!

Get Involved: Engineering Student Organizations

Hello parents! It’s about that time again–time for your student to return to class and dedicate their time to hard work and studious activities. But everyone needs a little break from the classwork once and a while, right? So be sure to encourage your students to find their niche in a student organization.

They can join their peers in a motivated team working to win a national competition, or they can become a member of that prestigious honors society that will help them network with industry. If your student is looking to expand their horizons and branch out into the university life, they can join an organization where they mingle with some amazing people who share their favorite engineering passion.

Whatever their interests, the best place to start is at the Engineering Student Organization Fair at the start of Fall semester. Engineering student organizations will be meeting and recruiting new members at the Palo Verde East Hub. We hope to see your student there!

For more information about student organizations and to keep an eye out for more information on the Engineering Student Organization Fair, please visit: studentorgs.engineering.asu.edu
